* Cowboys are known as bad-boys, but what happens when the bad-boy is also the law in town? What is it about these contradictions that make small town sheriffs, Texas Rangers and ex-outlaws-turned-lawmen so irresistible? And what makes them so gosh-darn sexy? Rm and I haven't done a Double D Ranch Tales story yet that explores this theme, but as we say, "Never say never!" A hot cowboy who once was a bad boy could easily make his way into a story of ours, a tale in which he can do some good and be associated with the ranch, especially with it being located so close to Las Vegas. In fact, as I'm writing this, there are some ideas bounding around in my head already. A tall, dark and handsome cousin, or other family member, who got into trouble in his youth and who had an easy time of charming the ladies (can we say modern day rake?), gets hired on by the good guys to help catch the men he used to hang with. And, what makes a man like this irresistibly sexy? The fact that he hasn't lost the traits that made him a cad in the first place: street smarts; knowing how to read people; how to woo a woman and make her feel wonderful in and out of the bedroom; how to make himself seem fascinating to everyone around him. Plus the fact that he decided to turn his life around, to follow a more moral compass while still acting like a bad boy, and knows how to ride and rope and work on a ranch, helps, too. At least IMO this is what makes him the hunky cowboy he is. ;)

Lawmen who are also cowboys are a romantic mix of bad boy with a morale compass. Sometimes it's all about getting that needle pointed in the right direction. Country Blessings! Angela

I think I like "bad boys" cum sheriffs because they're redeemable, and once they fall, they fall hard and for good. They live hard, play hard and love hard. A challenge for anyone to take up. :-) jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI like a lawman who is also a cowboy because he has that strong link to the land and to all those that inhabit the land. His loyalty and his morals are out front for all to see. Thanks for being part of the hop. lisagk(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteLike reading about a lawman who is a cowboy. They have common sense, strong morals, they will fight for who and what is important to them.

I love my Alpha Males. And lawmen who are also cowboys are the ultimate alpha male. They are strong, independent, and fiercely protective; while on the inside they are nothing but big ol’ teddy bears! I love the way their mouths talk dirty, but their eyes show their vulnerability. They can be rough and tough in the bedroom, but still have the gentle caress of an attentive and protective lover. It's all in the heart. They are the best!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win. <^_^>

Glad I got to "meet" you on this blog tour, C.R. I'm always trying to find new authors of westerns and western romance/suspense to read. What I like best about lawmen who are cowboys is their dedication to what they do: protect the weak, bring justice to a bad situation, make sacrifices when necessary. In other words, they get the job done...whatever it takes. Their work ethic was (and is) extraordinary. jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love their honor code and how loyal they are to people they love.
